Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) is Europe’s foremost climate innovation initiative, entrusted by the European Commission to catalyse transformation through innovation. Headquartered in Amsterdam, with circa 160 people distributed all over the EU, Climate-KIC leads and orchestrates innovation with a community of more than 400. Together we conduct activities in 39 countries. We partner with cities, regions, governments and communities with the highest climate action ambition; providing the framework and expert support to holistically manage the complexity of climate change and deliver accelerated climate action.
Climate-KIC operates as a not-for-profit platform working through public-private partnership, wielding both public and private funding. We consist of 3 Legal entities: a Dutch BV Holding company (for profit) with 14 branches in European jurisdictions, providing grant management, innovation orchestration services, and impact investment advisory owned by a Dutch-based foundation with charity status – Climate-KIC International Foundation. Historically, we have been funded by our founder and core funder, the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), but we are currently transitioning to a multi-funder model.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Product Marketing Manager to lead the development and execution of marketing strategies that enhance our fundraising efforts and foster community building.
This role requires a blend of product marketing expertise and a passion for social impact, aiming to drive product awareness, adoption, and engagement within our target communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and Execute Marketing Strategies: Create and implement comprehensive marketing plans that align with our fundraising targets, communications goals and community engagement objectives.
• Product Positioning and Messaging: Develop compelling product messaging and positioning that differentiates our offerings in the market and resonates with our community, including product marketing briefs, messaging documents, competitive positioning to support fundraising efforts and compelling engagements for the community.
• Go-to-Market Planning: Lead the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for product features and updates that drive engagement and adoption including coordinated campaigns and events.
• Community Engagement: Collaborate with community managers to develop and implement strategies that increase and enhance community engagement and support fundraising initiatives.
• Content Creation: Oversee the creation of marketing materials in collaboration with thematic experts and the Strategic Partnerships and Communications teams, including pitch decks, blog posts, social media content, direct emailing, and case studies, to support product promotion and community building.
• Performance Analysis: Analyse the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives, utilising data to inform future strategies, drive experimentation, identify growth opportunities and improve outcomes.
• Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and trends within the fundraising and non-profit sectors.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, Strategic
Partnerships, Community and support teams to ensure alignment and effective communication across departments.

Job requirements
ABOUT YOU
You are a high-performing Product Marketing Manager. You will play a critical role in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, product/service adoption, lead generation and community building. This role demands a strategic thinker and hands-on executor who can run projects independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product marketing and ideally in growth marketing, ideally with experience in the climate industry, particularly in marketing to commercial, institutional and
philanthropic investors, family offices, and HNWIs.
Qualifications
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or comparable education or on the job experience in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience: At least seven years of experience in product marketing, preferably within the non-profit or fundraising sector.
o Strong understanding of marketing strategies and tactics related to fundraising and community engagement.
o Excellent understanding of multiple revenue streams, both public and private
Skills:
o Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and platforms.
o Fluency in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and any additional European languages are a benefit.
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
o High degree of self-organisation and personal responsibility
o Demonstrated excellence in organisational and communication skills, working with multiple teams across an organisation
o Able to work in an international, distributed, and multicultural team; strong awareness of other cultures and working practices
o Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Location
Candidates must have the right to work in the location they’re applying for (I.e. not require visa sponsorship) prior to applying for the position. Ideally, the successful candidate will be based close to one of the EIT Climate KIC offices, but we support fully remote or hybrid forms of working and offer a high degree of flexibility.
